“What do you want to do with your life?” Answer: “ I just want to brew beer!” That was the conversation had between founders Tom Wagner and Jerome Moore in March of 2013. The concept of Railroad Brewing Company was born. Flagship brews like Red Caboose and Coal Train Stout were created, and the idea of bringing a craft brewery to Lorain County, using influences from the Colorado brewery scene began!

After years of research and planning, it wasn’t until March of 2015 that Tom and Jerome welcomed Dave Lengyel to the team to put the plan in full motion. It is Dave’s marketing background as well as his tireless work ethic that allowed the brewery dream to become a reality. In the summer of 2016 the team added Tom Culler, from the hand-crafted tables in the brewery to the day-to-day operations, Tom’s influence is evident.

In March of 2016 Railroad signed a deal to occupy 1010 Center Rd in Avon, OH and begin brewery operations. The 4000 square foot building houses the 10 barrel SysTech Stainless Works system and Taproom. Come and enjoy one of their fresh brews or one of their friends’ guest beers. Enjoy food from local food trucks or catering from nearby restaurants. Pet and kid friendly, The Railroad Brewing Company offers an atmosphere that is welcoming to everyone.
